Safety and Safeguarding Technology
Safety and safeguarding for every Little is our highest priority. We've developed a structured, system-driven approach-our Safety and Safeguarding System-to ensure each Little is protected within A New Big Brother's ecosystem. It includes a rigorous screening and vetting process, standards of conduct, session recording and transcription, and our proprietary Big Brother Certification Program, to prepare Big Brothers with proper training in male development, and a clear session kickoff agreement that empowers each Little to recognize concerns, pause or disengage at any time.

Every Big Brother undergoes a comprehensive screening and vetting process before joining the program. This includes background checks, interviews, and mandatory safeguarding requirements to ensure the highest standards of safety and professionalism. Our process is designed to help provide a safe, trustworthy, and supportive experience for every Little Brother.

Every Big Brother is required to complete mandated reporter and youth safeguarding training as part of our certification process. This training helps mentors recognize, respond to, and properly report concerns involving child safety and well-being.

Every Big Brother is required to sign binding agreements that establish clear standards of conduct, professionalism, and accountability. These agreements reinforce our expectations for appropriate behavior, communication, and safeguarding practices throughout the mentorship experience

A structured agreement read at the start of each session or program, that empowers every Little Brother to recognize concerns, pause or disengage at any time.

While the Little Brother Kick Off Agreement empowers the Little to leave a session or disconnect at any time , if he feels uncomfortable, our additional layer of protection works through Zoom’s recording, transcribing and documentation technology.
All mentorship sessions conducted through our centralized Zoom Business platform are automatically recorded and transcribed to support the safety, accountability, and protection of Little Mentees, Big Brother Mentors, and A New Big Brother.
These records are securely stored within our encrypted systems and serve as an added layer of protection for Little Brothers, parents, and mentors alike.
While all Certified Big Brother Mentors undergo a rigorous screening, vetting, and background check process, secure session documentation helps promote transparency, accountability, and adherence to our safeguarding protocols.
Recorded sessions records are maintained solely for child protection, compliance, and legal purposes, including the investigation of reported concerns, verification of events, or when required by law. Access to these records is strictly restricted and protected from unauthorized access.
This additional safeguard complements our screening procedures, training requirements, and accountability standards to help maintain a safe and trusted mentoring environment for every participant.
Important Note: Caregivers & Parents can opt-out of session recordings , but must sign a waiver confirmation.
