Every Big Brother is certified and fully background checked. Each mentor is screened through our internal system and the background check standards required by their state.

Every Big Brother is trained as a mandated reporter. This means they are educated to recognize and legally report suspected child abuse or neglect, ensuring the safety and protection of every Little Brother.

Every Big Brother signs safety agreements that protect the Little Brother, the parents, and the mentor. These contracts ensure accountability, clear expectations, and a secure environment for everyone involved.

Little Brothers have a safe space to discuss questions and challenges they may not feel comfortable sharing with their parents. This includes topics like puberty, body changes, friendships, school stress, or personal struggles. Mentors are trained to hold these conversations in confidence while following a clear safety policy: confidentiality only ends if the mentor suspects harm to self, harm to others, or abuse. Parents receive high-level progress updates without specific personal details.

The Big Brother Kickoff Agreement is read aloud by the parent to the Little Brother before the first session, setting clear rules and safety boundaries. It gives the youth a safe space to discuss challenges, questions, or personal struggles while defining exactly when confidentiality ends for safety reasons. It also empowers the Little Brother to stop a session or report concerns, and ensures the Big Brother communicates only through the official platform, creating accountability and trust for both parties.

Every Big Brother agrees to keep communication within the platform, with no social media or outside contact. This ensures clear boundaries, safety, and a professional, supportive mentorship.

Every Big Brother is certified in our Adolescent Development Model and trained in confidence building, fitness and nutrition, friendship skills, and practical strategies for handling bullying and social situations. Using encouragement, positive role-model bonding, and coaching methods like Priming, Tagging, and Solidifying, our approach supports healthy brain development and helps your son grow into a strong and confident version of himself.
